📋 League Prelims — Player Tune-Up Plans (Day 2)

Final tune-up before tomorrow's Prelims at Recreation Park 18. Focus is on confidence and final strategy locks.

Matthew Hao '27 — Confidence + Short Game Floor

• Short game (20m): "Par Saves" — drop 10 balls in difficult spots around the green. Goal: save par on 6/10.
• Putting (10m): 3-6-9 ft ladder drill. Must make 3 in a row from each before moving.
• Strategy Lock: Final review of the "Aggressive but Smart" lines identified on Google Earth yesterday.

Gus Hebert '29 — Rhythm + Routine

• Range (15m): Target practice — hit 10 shots to alternating targets. Only counts if pre-shot routine is 100% consistent.
• Putting (15m): Speed control on downhill putts (Rec Park greens can be tricky).
• Strategy Lock: Commit to the "Driver vs. 3-Wood" decisions for holes 1, 4, and 12.

Ethan Hao '27 — Bogey Avoidance + Tempo

• On-course (3 holes): Play 3 holes with the goal of NO double bogeys. If you miss a green, your only job is to get it to 10 feet.
• Range (10m): 7-iron tempo swings — 75% power, focus on pure contact.
• Strategy Lock: Re-verify the "Bail-out" sides for the par 3s at Rec Park.

Ben Madanski '26 — Stock Shots + Trust

• Range (20m): "Fairway Finder" — hit 10 drivers. Must land 7/10 between two markers.
• Putting (10m): Lag putting to a 3-foot "bucket." Focus on feel and sound.
• Strategy Lock: Finalize the layup numbers for the par 5s. Trust the wedge.

Michael Albornoz '26 — The "Go" vs "No-Go" Drill

• Range (20m): Decision-making drill. Coach calls "Go" (aggressive target) or "No-Go" (safe target) mid-backswing or right before.
• Putting (10m): Confidence circle — 2-footers, 20 in a row. Hear the ball drop.
• Strategy Lock: Confirm the "Hazard-Free" lines for the water-heavy holes.

Jayden Kuo '26 — Emotional Reset + Stock Iron

• Range (20m): Finding your "Safety Club" — find the iron you trust most for a 150-yard shot.
• Short game (10m): Simple chips from the fringe. Keep it on the ground.
• Strategy Lock: Review the "Medicine Holes." Accept the bogey before you even tee off.
